Adolescents need positive connections with people they can turn to for advice or assistance. The importance of these connections is underscored by the HHS Office of Adolescent Health's (OAH) national call to action, Adolescent Health: Think, Act, Grow® (TAG), which identifies supportive people as one of the Five Essentials for Healthy Adolescents.

The UC Berkeley Center of Excellence in Maternal Child Health and UCSF Leadership Education in Adolescent Health Training Project invite researchers, students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty to present the very latest findings of their work in adolescent health and emerging adulthood at the upcoming 2018 Interdisciplinary Research Symposium.
"There is no other group in society more emblematic of the Anthropocene than the adolescent—defined as a person between the ages of 10 and 24 years. The irreversible harm we are inflicting on our planet today will hurt the lives of young people most of all."
