Youth Equity Discovery Initiative (YEDI)

Overview

YEDI is targeted to undergrads with lived experiences of inequalities and scaffolds students working on research projects with critical skills, career guidance, cohort learning and cascading mentorship from faculty to graduate students to undergraduates. YEDI serves as a pipeline into careers and further education in this field while enhancing their undergraduate discovery experience.

Students apply to yearly URAPpositions, or reach out to our faculty for volunteer positions and are then offered the opportunity to join the YEDI scholars, a group of undergraduates working in youth equity research. These scholars meet regularly for cohort building, skills training, career guidance and mentoring. Click here to review past program evaluations.

If you are interested in a specific i4Y professor's research, we encourage you to submit a cover letter and resume to i4y@berkeley.edu. Your cover letter should include specific faculty that you are interested in working with and your specific area of interest.
